Peaches Wilson is Sylvia’s and Aaron’s adopted Aunt. She lives in Texas, is 38 and the younger second wife of Uncle Tripp. She’s short, curvy, busty, but has a very trim waist. Her hair is naturally blond with bright highlights. Her face is weathered with laugh wrinkles. She was a bartender long ago.
Karyn Washington is also from Texas and is Sylvia’s best friend. She’s Black and the same age as Aaron. She studied art in college and is the photographer of the photos in Sylvia’s bar, where she also works. She’s tall and lean with a big afro that swirls around her head like a halo. She and Peaches are shopping buddies.
Karen is always there to help Sylvia, whatever she needs. She’s also quite willing to help her get into trouble. Peaches is there to bail them out. She’s the voice of reason … most of the time.

When Peaches arrives in St. Louis, she doesn’t expect the amount of trouble Sylvia has. It seems to her that the only way to help her daughter out of the mess is to walk right through the fire with her. Karyn, for once, is the only voice of reason.

After the events of the previous fall, Karyn decided to return to Texas with Peaches, only for both of them to return when Sylvia calls. Babysitting duty isn’t so bad. There’s plenty of shopping. But then, there’s also Sylvia’s dogs.
