Now that I’m able to hobble around decently, I have sooooo much to catch up on. Appointments, putting things away where they actually go instead of where it will be convenient for me to get, and finding things that got misplaced.
I spent two days looking for paperwork I didn’t remember because the breaking of my leg took so much of my attention.
And remember how I said rewriting and editing was like a yoyo? I had to backtrack again to unconfuse three chapters of action. See, I added a cat to the scene. And because I love animals, the bits with the cat were overwritten.
Overwriting is actually what it sounds like. Writing way too much about something that doesn’t matter much.
I tried to cut it back, but I just couldn’t. Not and do justice to the poor little cat that was starving. When I asked another writer where I could cut it, I was told to just overwrite the rest. Then it would be easier to come back and see what to cut.
So, there it is.
Only now I’ve decided that Sylvia will adopt the cat and it will be a continuing character in upcoming books. Along with her dogs from the first book, of course.
