Pirate Day

Pretty much the only book signings I do anymore are at Farmers’ or Craft Markets. I love them. I love meeting people who’ve never heard of me. I love people who come rushing up to my table, “I’m so glad you’re here.”

I love hearing them telling their friends how they bought this book or that book and how they should get one.

And I love hearing about their lives and seeing interesting/odd things too.

I just had two markets pretty much back to back and I have to tell you I’m exhausted. And I’m completely peopled out. I’m not really much of a people person, except for these markets. For some reason, I they just really jazz me.

My cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing so much.

I sold out of my new book, ON THE SLY, within just a few hours.

Anyway, today will be a Pirate Day for me. I will steal it all away selfishly, with rum in my coffee, the music loud, and the TV blaring. I’ll eat red meat and say things to my cats and friends like, “Arrrrgh! Avast ye mateys!”

Sometimes these things are necessary.

I didn’t take many pictures at the markets, but there are a few below. My buddies, Chris, Shannon, and I spent most of the time working hard, making friends, and having a good time.

My next signing will be September 2nd at the Grand Falls Farmers’ Market in Grand Falls, NB, Canada. So looking forward to it!!!
