I’m trying to write this without giving any spoilers, so if I get wordy, I’m sorry. I know you understand.
Those of you who have read the first book, On The Sly, know the kind of person Sylvia is. You also know she’s very reluctant to involve herself in any traumatic event. Especially with her own difficult past and recent trauma.
I had to find something that would make her overlook her PTSD and other problems, without a moment’s hesitation. The only thing that would do that would be if someone she loves was in trouble. She’d lay down her life to save that person.
Her brother is the obvious choice, given he’s working on a bank robbery task force with the FBI. Once he’s in trouble, she’d stop at nothing to save him.
Of course, the bad guys had to be really bad. And of course, Sylvia gets hurt.
And of course, when she thinks she knows everything that’s going on, it’ll bite her in the ass. She’ll realize she made a fair share of mistakes. And will find herself in trouble too.
But her brother is a bad-ass too. So they kind of have to rescue each other as a team.
Because Sylvia surrounds herself with tough people, dogs, things, I gave her a car to fall in love with: a 1970 Plymouth Road Runner.
In the end, because it’s her book, she’ll need to save the day. And only in Sylvia style.
