The title ‘Fear Swallowed’ literally grasped me with its talons and wouldn’t let go being on a journey of discovery myself and thus I purchased this collection of which I reference as an embracing of the soul; to be grounded after a lengthy flight of uncertainty. Anyone who loves the written word and it’s flow, will enjoy this work. I also purchased it, because unlike many poets of the modern day, I understood the material; Koenig writes in such a way as to stamp a voice onto your own thoughts; no matter how scattered they might be. Above all I am firm believer in supporting Canadian authors who publish their work in Canada, for the simple fact that recognition is much more difficult then anywhere else, though its moving at a snail’s pace. You won’t be disappointed with this collection and it may even assist you in penning your own thoughts.
